The Akron Area Association of American Baptist Churches serves as a communication resource between the local churches and the region.  Events are planned for worship, for support, for fellowship among the local churches, for transmitting information about missionaries, camp and other ministries.   The Association actively works with the individual churches to promote programs within each church as well as endeavors to bring the association churches together annually for worship and fellowship.

“We shall affirm the mission statement of ABC/OHIO:  ‘American Baptist Churches of Ohio is an expression of the Body of Christ in this world, called to provide a network of resources, support and fellowship, and to enable member congregations to implement shared ministries in faithful witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”
